Salcette FC mount late comeback, win 2-1

Salcette FC beat JMJ Sports Club by 2-1 in their Mumbai Football Association, Elite Private League match held on Thursday, 7th April, 2022.

Salcette FC got off the mark in the Elite Private League as they were successful in overturning a one-goal deficit.

Both teams were looking for their first win of the season. JMJ Sports Club took the lead in the 14th minute of the first half, Elvin Fernandes putting them in front with the assist from Runal Patil.

Having preserved a 1-0 lead at halftime, there was everything to play for in the second 45 minutes as any result was possible.

Salcette FC comeback began in the 68th minute when Sahil Mukane scored the equaliser with the assist from Melroy Fernandes.

Varun Lad scored in the 74th minute with the assist from Sahil Mukane. Salcette FC lead for the first time in the match and were on their way to all three points.

At the end of 90 minutes, Salcette FC preserved the lead and sealed their first three points of the season. The win and comeback felt more sweeter as they also bounced back from 7-0 loss last match.
