Meanwhile, Springfield FC squared up against GKW FC Juniors in another gripping contest, which saw Springfield FC securing a tough victory against a poised opposition.
The GKW Rangers played Rhino FC on Monday morning. The weather was perfect for football as the Rangers in Pink and Black faced off against the Rhinos in Green and Black. The match was like a game of Chess with Rhino FC’s Parvez Shaikh and GKW’s Francis D’Silva used all their tactical acumen to get one over another. However, neither team could breach the other’s defense despite some big opportunities for either team. The game ended in a goalless draw.
The second game of the day saw more goals. Springfield FC squared off against GKW Rangers Youth in a thrilling match-up. The first half was tightly contested, with no goals conceded however the second half erupted into action when the Rangers Glaniel Paul scored a sublime goal to put them in front in the 51st minute. Springfield responded immaculately, with Sahil Rao scoring in the 60th minute. The next 20 minutes were an absolutely battle, as both teams pushed for a winner. It looked like it was going to end with honors even, when Arjun Ranjith took matters into his own hands and scored spectacularly to win the game for Springfield. The final score was 2-1 in Springfield’s favour.
