The Mumbai Football Association First Division saw an action-packed encounter as Carmelite SC stormed to a 6-2 victory over Fr Agnel Gymkhana at Neville D’Souza Ground, Bandra, on February 14, 2025. Carmelite SC’s ruthless attack overwhelmed their opponents, sealing a convincing win.
Carmelite SC started strong, with Joel D’Souza scoring an early opener in the 4th minute. He doubled his tally in the 27th minute, putting his team in firm control. Fr Agnel Gymkhana struggled to respond as Carmelite continued to press. Maclordus Zolar extended the lead in the second half, finding the net in the 50th minute. Carson Manaji and Rajesh Sonkar added to the tally in the 35th and 65th minutes, respectively, further stretching Carmelite’s advantage.
Fr Agnel Gymkhana showed some fight, with Tanmay Thakur pulling a goal back in the 44th minute and scoring again later. However, Carmelite’s relentless attack proved too much to handle as they continued to dominate possession and create scoring chances.
Disciplinary action was also a factor, with Krish Ahirwar of Carmelite SC receiving a yellow card in the 70th minute, while Harsh Adikari of Fr Agnel Gymkhana was booked in the 72nd minute.
