U15 Junior Girls YPL 2025: Raising the Bar for Girls’ Football in Mumbai

The 2025 edition of the Yuva Presidents League U15 Junior Girls competition was a powerful showcase of the passion, commitment, and growing quality of girls’ football in Mumbai.

Held at the Neville D’Souza Turf, the tournament brought together talented teams determined to make their mark, proving that the city’s next generation of women footballers is ready to take on bigger stages.

A Final of Fine Margins
The championship match between Football School of India (FSI) and Mumbai Knights FC was a classic example of tight, competitive football. FSI struck early with a well-taken goal by Aanshi in the 14th minute. That strike ultimately sealed a hard-fought 1-0 win, crowning them deserved champions.

The narrow scoreline didn’t tell the full story of the intense midfield battles, brave defending, and determined pressing from both sides. The final whistle was met with a roar of relief and celebration from FSI’s players and staff, who had executed their game plan to perfection.

Celebrating Champions and Runners-Up
During the award ceremony, Asst. Secretary Mr. Ajit Sawant felicitated both the champions and the spirited runners-up. His encouragement and support have been crucial in ensuring these young athletes have access to competitive opportunities that help them grow not just as players but as individuals.

Honouring Individual Brilliance
The Player of the Tournament award went to Shivika Shetty of Football School of India. Calm, assured, and a leader on the field, Shivika’s defensive work was a key factor in her team’s championship run. Her performances under pressure showed maturity beyond her years and were rightly recognised with this honour.

Inspiring the Next Generation
The U15 Junior Girls YPL is about much more than trophies. It’s a celebration of the growth of girls’ football in Mumbai, of young players daring to dream bigger and work harder. It provides vital competitive experience in a safe, structured environment where talent can shine.

By investing in such tournaments, the Mumbai Football Association is laying the foundation for future stars who may one day represent the city, the state, or even the country.

Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and teams who made this season memorable. Your passion and spirit are helping shape the future of Indian women’s football!
